City of Sydney is proposing changes to street parking conditions in all precincts within its authority (except Central Sydney). A draft policy has been drawn up and is available for viewing and feedback until January 12th, 2018. [see link below]
The objective of the policy is to manage limited street parking opportunities to serve local residents and businesses in the fairest and most efficient way. The City hopes to achieve this by implementing any of four main controls: time limits; days/hours of operation for limits; metred fees that reflect space availability and demand; issued permits that exempt eligible residents or businesses from parking restrictions.
The overarching agenda is to improve liveability within the City’s suburbs by encouraging use of public transport, walking and cycling and allowing safer, freer access to streets and public spaces.
