Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce would like to extend a warm welcome to its new co-president, Erica Reynolds. She’ll be sharing the tiller with Rob McCourt.
Erica has been an active member of PUCC for three years, and was already Vice President prior to accepting her new role. She has an enthusiasm and vibrancy that augers well for the growth and efficacy of the Chamber.
Lawrence Gibbons won’t be disappearing and will remain as integral and effectual as ever. In fact, Erica made it a condition of her tenure.
“Lawrence has a lot of energy and a lot of ideas, so I definitely want to work with him in structuring our future plans and projects.”
Erica envisages a co-operative environment in which businesses, community groups and residents interact to create mutual rewards.
“There are a lot of creative businesses in the area as well as high tech businesses. It would be great if we could find a way to use those resources in a way that benefits everyone.”
With her home in the precinct and clients mostly situated around the city, Erica gets around a lot by walking or riding her bike, so she has quite an appreciation for the aesthetic and accessibility of Pyrmont and Ultimo and its convenience to the city. One of her aspirations is to make it easy and enticing for people to visit and spend time in the area.
“We want to bring more foot traffic into the area. Things like the Growers Market and the Festival are good for that. But there’s a lot here – and the more people we attract to the area, the better for business and the community.”
