I would like to share with you a letter from our CEO, Stephen Cartwright to the Hon Bill Shorten MP. The letter details our support for the independent umpire’s decision in regard to penalty rates. The letter also clearly explains the level of consultation undertaken to get to the decision and challenges why any attempts would be made to derail it now.
Further, the letter offers Mr Shorten the opportunity to meet with real businesses – your and our members – for feedback on the issue and includes an invitation to visit the Region.
The call to action is strong and reinforces that the Chamber movement will be able to quickly facilitate objective meetings between Bill Shorten and our members.
