Netstripes held its first ever Bizruption Women event on Wednesday November 8 with an impressive line up of guests and a very impressed audience.
Hosted in the upbeat office of WeWork Martin Place, the event attracted women – and men – from all levels and all types of business who are interested in hearing entrepreneurial stories and advice from savvy business owners.
The all female panel on the night included CEO of City of Sydney, Monica Barone who discussed the positive multiplier effect of having a female CEO and Lord Mayor to bring fresh perspective and change.
Carley and Tresne, familiar faces after their stint on My Kitchen Rules, spoke about taking risks, working hard and having faith in your goals as they shared their experience starting their own business, The Happiness Mission.
Convening the panel was PWC Partner, Tamara Brown, whose thoughtful questions and observations reflected years of industry expertise.
The perpetually effervescent Sonia Wray was MC and chief motivator.
As always, there were some ice-breaker exercises and speed-pitching and of course, a networking session at the end – helped along by the delicious signature dessert that is the sensational Strawberry Watermelon Cake from Black Star Pastry.
Here’s hoping Bizruption Women becomes a regular event. And that they always end with the Strawberry Watermelon Cake.
