The Wildlife Photographer of The Year is one of the world’s most prestigious photographic competitions and the Australian National Maritime Museum has the honour of exhibiting 100 incredible images from this year’s event.
On load from the Natural History Museum in London, the selection of photographs represent a range of categories and themes, curated to provide a breath-taking experience. The competition attracts around 50,000 entries from over 90 countries with the best photographers in the world submitting their work. It has been running for more than 50 years, with each successive year pushing the standard higher.
Photos are judged on creativity, originality and technical excellence. Subjects can be anything that represents the wild, natural world from microscopic insects to elusive, endangered animals to majestic sea life to awe-inspiring landscapes.
This is a rare and special exhibition that will eventually tour internationally. It’s an absolute must see.
