UrbanGrowth NSW will be conducting geotechnical testing in the waters of Blackwattle Bay throughout February, beginning on Monday 6th. The testing will determine seabed conditions in the bay as part of planning for the redevelopment of Sydney Fish Market.
A barge and drilling rig should be the only evidence of the testing as authorities anticipate minimal impact on the surrounds.
Testing will take place from 7am to 6pm and will exclude public holidays and weekends.
For up-to-date information on navigating Blackwattle Bay during this period of testing, please visit Roads and Maritime Services Marine Notices at RMS – Maritime
Members of the public who have any questions about the testing can contact The Bays Precinct team on 1800 664 939 or email thebaysprecinct@urbangrowth.nsw.gov.au.

As part of the wider development of The Bays Precinct, UrbanGrowth NSW is working with City of Sydney and Inner West Councils as well as encouraging input from locals to determine the active recreational needs of people living in and visiting the area.
The public is invited to complete an online survey to help measure demand and range of facilities for active recreation such as organised indoor and outdoor sports, aquatic activities, youth recreational space (e.g. skate parks) and informal outdoor recreation.
