Being an entrepreneur involves more than just having an idea – that’s the easy part. It takes motivation, application and perseverance, and that’s a challenge for anyone to achieve alone. This weekend, female entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to test their mettle during a 54-hour high energy start-up workshop at University of Technology, Sydney. The weekend workshop will take participants through a simulated business journey, from pitching their ideas through brainstorming, writing a business plan and learning how to build a prototype. Mentors, investors, co-founders and sponsors will be there to offer assistance and helpful tips. Teams will then present their business concept to the rest of the group, and a some local entrepreneurs who will provide feedback. They’ll even get the chance to do a Shark Tank style pitch to a group of judges who’ll also give feedback and advice.
The event is open to anyone, however there will be a minimum of 80% women.  All participants will receive $300 in credits for Google Cloud Platforms to help build web and mobile apps, as well as a free .co domain.
Tickets are $40 for UTS students and $55 for non-students and include five meals across the weekend.
