MAY
Saturday May 27th was another gift from the weather Gods for our market. It was clear and balmy and the crowds came out to enjoy the great food and unrivaled location. It was unfortunate that a council oversight led to sprinklers being left on all night converting the lawn into a quagmire.  However, we were able to improvise to some extent by placing some tables and chairs on the raised concrete area beside the boardwalk.

This market concluded the very successful Pyrmont Festival. Some residual atmosphere from the buzzy event in Pirrama Park the previous weekend seems to have wafted down to Pyrmont Bay Park – there were lots of families and lots of family pets at the growers market this month.

The market is attracting passers-by and visitors –  it would be great if more locals would start coming down and enhancing the community  feel.

APRIL
It was a beautiful sunny and unseasonably warm Autumn day and the April Pyrmont Growers Market seemed like the perfect way to kick off the weekend.
The layout was altered for this market, making it cosy and easier to navigate.
The  lawn area was used for tables and chairs and surrounded by ready-to-eat-food vendors, giving it an alfresco dining vibe.
Many familiar stallholders were there plus some newcomers, and it looks like the locals are getting back into the market-going routine. Here are some comments:
“So glad to see our market back every month!”  (Facebook)
“This was my first visit to the ‘new market’. Definitely will be going again. Nice to see some old face and the new ones.” (Facebook)

German Butchery: “It was indeed a nice market day and it was great to see some of our regular costumers…we will be back!”
BAE Springrolls: “Good to be involved, see you next time!”
Straight To The Source: “What a fabulous morning we all had on the market tour at Pyrmont Growers Market.”
The Tolerant Table: “It’s market day! Pyrmont Growers Market is my local market and it’s only on once a month so I won’t miss it rain, hail or shine!  I adore coming down to sit by the harbour, have a chat with the producers and grab some of their delicious product!”
