A very successful Pyrmont Festival wound up its ninth year after a 16 day program celebrating food, wine, art and the sheer joy of living. Once again, festival partner Orange 360, came to the party with an impressive showcase of wine, beer, local produce, and warm country cheer. The weekend event in Pirrama Park drew a crowd of over 20,000 people who enjoyed the offerings of 14 wineries, 2 breweries, a broad selection of food trucks and stalls, live music, oyster bar, cheese shop and more. With clear, sunny skies, live music, and deck chairs to relax into, it was a very chill vibe in the park.
Young performers from International Grammar School performed on stage to the large and appreciative crowd. Face painting, cricket in the park, giant slide, and bowling nets kept the kids entertained while AFL fans were able to watch the Grand Final on a big screen. The art classes were popular as was the art display. Overall sales were up by 30% on last year, which augers well for future events.
With winemaker dinners, tastings, cooking classes, and the Sunset Bar filling out the rest of the program, it was a lively time in Pyrmont for two odd weeks, and great for local business.
