Netstripes held its first Bizruption networking meeting for 2018 amid neon ceiling swirls in the Marquee at The Star last Wednesday evening.
Warming up the room (sometimes literally) was astounding magician/mentalist, Claire Yistelle. She went from group to group, performing inexplicable tricks and generally being very charming.
General Manager External Affairs at The Star, Chris Downy, gave a brief welcoming address to the packed house of enthusiastic business owners.
With her usual exuberance, Sonia Wray pumped up the crowd and then convened a hotly contested “Speed Pitching” contest.
Netstripes CEO, Dinesh De Silva interviewed special guest, Minister for Small and Family Business, the Workplace and Deregulation, the Hon. Craig Laundy MP. Mr Laundy comes from a long line of small family business ownership and showed a canny understanding and appreciation for the struggles of business owners in the room.
Claire Yistelle closed the official part of the evening with one final on- stage magic act, then the usual networking, imbibing and exchanging of business cards concluded a very worthwhile evening.
Don’t forget!
