City Of Sydney is planning to install outdoor exercise equipment and make other improvements to Pirrama Park to help encourage fitness activities among locals. It’s part of the council’s Parks Fitness Plan in which several parks have been ear-marked as potential hubs for outdoor activity. The equipment is basic and unobtrusive, blending in with the general landscaping, and is designed for simple exercises and varied levels of ability.
The plan is open to public consultation until 5pm, August 12.

The proposed fitness area will include:

new static fitness equipment for high and low intensity strength training
platforms and stairs for cardiovascular exercises
renewed planting areas
rubber soft fall that meets Australian Standards.

The existing mature trees in the park will be protected.
