Once again, the annual Christmas In Pyrmont festival was a great success. Held on Sunday November 27 under dubious skies, the event attracted significant crowds and raised $100,000 for partner charities Uniting Harris Community Centre, Detour House and Barnardos.
John Street Square was flanked by stalls selling local food and gifts. There were fun activities for the kids including painting and craft, as well as children’s entertainers. Adults were treated to live music and dancing.
Of course the day wouldn’t be complete without an appearance by the big man in red. Santa arrived in a non-traditional Beamer convertible, as jovial and jolly as ever, although he was almost upstaged by a jubilant red and black Chinese dragon.
The event is put together by hardworking volunteers in the local community and takes most of the year to organise and prepare. It’s a wonderful way to share a village Christmas spirit.
