Dr Chris Brown of the popular TV show Bondi Vet will visit Jackson’s Landing in Pyrmont – Australia’s largest pet-friendly development – as part of his national campaign to encourage a better attitude around living with animals.
According to Dr Brown, Australia rates low when it comes to positive support of pet ownership, with Sydney being the least hospitable city. The ever-increasing shift to apartment living has seen an equivalent rise in anti-animal sentiment, with many strata complexes banning cats, dogs and other pets.
Dr Brown wants people to recognise the benefits of including domestic animals in our lifestyles:
“Owning a pet brings happiness to people’s lives and bonds communities together, so why are we
making it so hard for people? I believe pet ownership should be encouraged as they give us simple joys
that can help us in so many ways.”
